Bunker R-III School District

Salem FFA (Future Farmers of America) students came to Bunker Elementary today. They taught 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade students about where food comes from through various presentations and activities. Thank you Salem FFA for this awesome learning experience!

On Wednesday, March 16th, High School Student Council will be hosting a blood drive for the Red Cross in the old gym from 12:30 to 4:30! Our goal is 23 units, so walk in or make an appointment online at https://www.redcrossblood.org/give.html/find-drive and help save a life!

Big Smiles free in-school dentist company is coming to our school on Wednesday, April 13, 2022. This free dental program is available for all students PK-12 and offers services such as cleanings, sealants, and fillings, if necessary. Fliers and forms are available in each building office. Forms must be completed and permission slips signed and returned no later than Monday, March 7, 2022. Elementary Eagles will celebrate Read Across America Week with educational activities and a spirit week celebrating the legendary author, Dr Seuss!

The ULTIMATE goal of education and high school sports has nothing to do with win/loss records, the grade on an exam, the championship trophy earned or the winning of the science fair. The ULTIMATE goal of education and high school sports is to produce young men and women that are respectful, hardworking, productive members of society whom will be amazing mothers and fathers and husbands and wives. Congratulations to our Eagles for bringing home the 2nd place trophy of the district championship game last night, as well as to Blake, Jayden, Kaitlyn & Cade for earning a spot on the All-District team. The Bunker community couldn’t be more proud of our athletes, students, fan club, parents, coaches and atmosphere in the gym last night. The ULTIMATE goal of education is being achieved everyday at Bunker school and was well represented last night. Congratulations Eagles!! Be Proud - - you have EARNED IT.

The district basketball championship games have been rescheduled for Saturday. Lesterville girls vs South Iron girls @ 5:00 pm & Bunker boys vs South Iron boys @ 6:30 pm at Bunker High School. We want to FILL the stands with GREEN. Everyone get crazy with all of your GREEN gear and come out and support your Eagles!

Our Eagles have advanced to the district CHAMPIONSHIP game against South Iron. Game time 7:30 pm on Thursday, February 24th at Bunker High School. Book Fair starts tomorrow from 12-3 and runs through Thursday this week! Elementary Reader’s Club will meet after school tomorrow!

Tomorrow we will celebrate Twosday, 2/22/22, with tacos for lunch and fun activities throughout the day!

Due to various circumstances, the Nerf War for tomorrow night has been postponed. Sorry for the inconvenience. We are working to reschedule and a new date will be posted soon. Also, reminder that school will not be in session tomorrow, Friday, February 18th and Monday, February 21st.

The boys home basketball game versus Eminence for tonight has been cancelled due to the weather
